Putting Data to Use
You’ve reached the finish line!
Remember when we talked about data literacy back in the first chapter? It can be explained as the ability to read, understand, analyse and think critically about data and its use. It’s good that more people are improving their data literacy, as it gives more people the opportunity to participate in an increasingly datafied society.
That’s primarily what the Data Journey has been about.
When you can put together what you’ve learned in this course, you have a good basis for understanding how the digital world really works, and you can take an active role in data-driven decisions and processes.
It means you can see the connections between theory and practice, about laws and ethics, about what is legal and what is acceptable. It means that you understand how the data lifecycle works and how data creates insight and value. You see the opportunities and challenges of using data and digital technology in practice.
Now it’s up to you to see the title here as an imperative: Use data!
What will you use it for? Good luck!
